PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the polls for the Town of Wells will open at 7:00 a.m. at the town hall located at 11754 County Highway XX, Norwalk, WI 54648 for the PRIMARY ELECTION on Tuesday, August 9Th, 2022. The Partisan Primary will determine the candidates for the November 8th, 2022 GENERAL ELECTION. The candidates for the Statewide, Congressional, Legislative and County offices will be elected. You may vote in only ONE party’s primary. Polls will close at 8:00 p.m. The polls are handicap accessible.

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place at the SPRING PRIMARY may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on the SPRING ELECTION to be held on Tuesday, April 5th ,2022 who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING OR ONLINE AT MyVote.wi.gov.
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application to your municipal clerk for an absentee ballot in person, by mail, by email or at MyVote.wi.gov
Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk.
You can also personally go to the clerk’s office or other specified location, complete a written application, and vote an absentee ballot during the hours specified for casting an absentee ballot. To obtain an absentee ballot, send a written request to:

The deadline for making application to vote absentee by mail is 5:00 p.m. on the fifth day before the election (Thursday, March 31st , 2022)
(Military electors should contact the municipal clerk regarding the deadlines for requesting or submitting an absentee ballot.)
The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is Tuesday, March 22nd , 2022. The deadline for voting an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday before the election (April 3rd , 2022).
All voted ballots must be returned to the municipal clerk, so the clerk can deliver them to the proper polling place before the polls close on the SPRING ELECTION (April 5th , 2022). Any ballots received after the polls close will be counted by the board of canvassers if postmarked by Election Day and received no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Friday following the election (April 8th , 2022).

WASTE AND RECYCLING INFORMATION
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1ST, 2021
THE TOWN OF WELLS HAS CHANGED THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE WASTE OR GARBAGE COLLECTIONS AS WELL AS THE RECYCLING COLLECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE TOWNSHIP EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1ST, 2021.
THE WASTE (GARBAGE) WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE TOWN OF WELLS SITE OF THE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 11754 COUNTY HIGHWAY XX, NORWALK, WI 54648. THE WASTE MUST BE PLACED IN A TOWN OF WELLS GARBAGE BAG THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE SITE FOR $2/EA BAG. THE BAGS WILL BE PLACED IN A SEPARATE WASTE DUMPSTER. THE RECYCLING CONTINUES AS USUAL BUT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE SAME TIME AS WASTE COLLECTION ON EVERY SATURDAY FROM 8-12 NOON. THE RECYCLING DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN A TOWN OF WELLS BAG. THERE WILL A MANAGER ON SITE FOR EACH SATURDAY TO ASSIST.
THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A FALL LARGE ITEM/APPLIANCE COLLECTION AT THE TOWN HALL SITE ON THE FIRST WEEKEND IN OCTOBER OF EACH YEAR AND A SPRING LARGE ITEM/APPLIANCE COLLECTION WEEKEND ON EVERY 4TH WEEKEND OF APRIL EACH YEAR.
